Montse Chavarria is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who has had professional experience working at UC San Diego as a counselor and now as therapist at Stronger Together Community Services. She has had experience supporting children, young adults, adults, couples and their families through their emotional experiences and their life challenges. She has also worked with local community programs helping children build better communication and coping skills. Her personal and professional experience has led her to want to pursue her career in helping individuals while assisting them toward reaching their goals.
Montse aims to provide a comfortable, and welcoming environment for individuals, couples and families by utilizing a client-centered, trauma-informed, and an attachment-based lens. Montse is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and uses different approaches to help clients to share their story and gain better understanding of their personal voyage. Montse personally values her role in allowing clients to feel safe and secure to explore, express and develop different ways to find their journey to healing and find their inner strength. She is passionate about working with diverse populations and multi-cultural communities.

Montse holds a B.S. in Psychology with a specialization in Developmental Psychology from the University of California San Diego. She just completed her masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and is pursuing her doctorate in Marital and Family Therapy at Alliant International University – San Diego. As a therapist at Stronger Together Community Services Montse has worked supporting young adults, adults, couples and their families through their emotional experiences and life challenges. She personally values her role in allowing clients to feel safe and secure to explore, express and develop different ways to find their journey to healing and find their inner strength. Montse enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, and her favorite animal is a giraffe!
